Job Summary: The engineering position is responsible for providing technical production support, leading projects, and developing processes for the manufacture of HVAC centrifugal chillers.
A successful candidate will be self-motivated with well-developed problem solving and interpersonal skills, including a strong ability to lead teams, manage process improvements, and influence others in a cross-functional environment.
This position is based out of our campus in La Crosse, WI and requires daily onsite presence.
· Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes for the manufacture of shells.
• Cutting, rolling, and forming of steel parts.
• Evaluate and implement innovative, cost effective, safe, manufacturing processes and techniques, which will improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing operations and business systems.
• Develop manufacturing planning, initial tooling requirements and costs, capability requirements, control plans, and assessments, which facilitate the definition and specification of the manufacturing processes.
• Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems.
• Develop and implement manufacturing flows, workstation layouts and organization, and station controls, which optimize value added operations, operating costs, and product / process quality.
• Integrate closely with various functional team members collaborating while enhancing design for manufacturability and ease of integration to manufacturing facility.
• Project management knowledge and skills.
Estimates the time and resources required to complete a project for self and cross-functional partners.
Develops plan and process for viable project.
• Conduct process qualification activities to ensure delivered processes meet required specifications.
Create required documentation for new processes and provide or support training of production associates.
• Utilize a standardized problem-solving approach to troubleshoot product and process failures and develop root cause solutions to prevent reoccurrences through the final manufacturing validation process.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering discipline) and 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience required.
· HVAC or heavy industrial environment preferred.
· 1-2 years of experience with cutting/forming/rolling plate steel material.
Key Competencies:
• Experience with design for manufacturing and design for automation a plus.
• Automation integration experience.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma tools and methodology.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization is required.
Must be able to speak and write clearly and concisely.
• Possession of initiative to further develop technical skills, interpersonal skills and career path.
• Must have strong work ethic with a positive attitude, and be customer-focused, team-oriented and results-driven.

Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $80,000-105,000/annually
