Kids and Mentors Outdoors (KAMO) is an all volunteer group operating in several areas of Wisconsin including the La Crosse area.
Our mission is to get kids outdoors year around - usually in small groups.
We have a website at kamokids.
org that gives some insights about what we do.
We can use adult volunteers periodically to help with running activities.
Some activities we've done are campfire evenings, river clean up, pontoon rides, fishing on the Best Dam Fishing Float, hunting, ice fishing, geo caching, sledding.
You don't have to be an outdoor expert to help.
For example, we often prepare and serve food, oversee kids who are doing activities.
We do not ask our volunteers to come to meetings or fund raise.
New people bring fresh ideas.
