I know this post is a long shot, but I'm in search of a rundown homestead to fix up and call my 'retirement place'.
A residence doesn't even need to be currently livable, but we are hoping to find a place where at least some of the buildings can be salvaged and repaired.
We'd like 10+ acres with most in tillable land and are hoping for something in the southeast area of MN or south/western area of WI.
For example Minnesota counties would be: Wabasha, Winona, Houston, Filmore, Mower, Olmsted, Dodge.
And Wisconsin counties would be: Pierce, Pepin, Buffalo, Trempealeau, La Crosse Vernon, Crawford, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Monroe, Clark, Juneau, Richland.
If you have or know of someone who is sitting an old farm site (or an abandoned one?) that would be willing to sell, please let us know.
Depending on price, we might be able to do a cash deal.
Or maybe a Contract for Deed if the acreage is bigger?
